6 Things That Made Me Happy This Week – Michigan Photographer

6 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

1. Babysitting for my sister.  This week I babysat for my sister’s youngest 2 girls so that she could attend a class field trip with my nephew.  It was nice to spend some time with my nieces, and I was glad that my keeping the girls meant that my sister could have some one on one time with her little guy.  Helping out my family makes me happy 🙂

 2. My little lady’s field trip.  This week my daughter had a field trip to the Flint Children’s Museum.  I have to admit, this was the first time that I had ever been there, and I must say I was missing out.  They had a lot of neat areas, and activities for kids.  We had a fun time, and one of these days I’ll have to go back with my boys, because I think they’d like it too.  Finding new fun places to go as a family makes me happy 🙂

3. My husband.  This week my husband was able to take our kids on a Boy Scouts field trip, and from what I heard about the trip afterwards I’m glad that he was the one that took them, and not me.  Being able to share parenting duties makes me happy 🙂

4. Mc Donald’s.  The boys had a half day this week, and we went to Mc Donald’s to play, and have lunch.  With all of the wet rainy weather we’ve been having, it was nice to be able to let my little ones get rid of their excess energy at an indoor playland.  Indoor places for my kids to play makes me happy 🙂

5. Our neighbors.  We had our neighbors over for dinner this weekend, and it was so nice to see them.  The girls played dress-up, and the boys ran around.  We ate, played games, and watched a movie.  There was lots of laughter, and fun.  Spending time with people that are important to us makes me happy 🙂

6. Kittens.  Our cat had 5 kittens this weekend!  We have been waiting, and wondering when our cat would deliver her kittens.  We all made guesses as to how many babies should would have, and my husband was the lucky winner.  (I only guessed 4, so guess what, that made me the loser.)  Anyway, the kids could not wait to see Miley’s baby kittens, and find out what they looked like, so needless to say the big day was filled with happiness, and excitement all rolled into one!  There are 2 white ones, 2 light gray ones, and one dark gray/black one.  I’m happy to report that the kittens, and their mommy are doing great. Watching the kittens grow and change will be a fun experience for us.  Brand new kittens make me happy 🙂

What made you happy this week?

The kittens are less than 1 day old in these photos, and since I didn’t want to touch them yet I just held my camera over their box, (they were born high up in a box on a closet shelf) and snapped a photo.  Aren’t they darling?!

I hope that your week was filled with as much sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love as ours was!

5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week – Fenton Michigan Child Photographer

5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

1. Birthday Parties.  On Sunday we celebrated my Father-in-Laws 60th birthday.  It seems like just yesterday he was turning 50…  Anyway, the food was wonderful, it wasn’t too cold outside for the men as they built walls for the barn, (the birthday gift) and of course it is always fun to spend time with family.  Birthday parties, family, and good food make me happy 🙂

2. Field trips.  I took my son on his class field trip to see a play based on the characters Henry, and Mudge.  He was so excited that our seats were up high, until he realized that it felt like we were falling downhill the whole time.  Next time he wants to sit up high in the back, straight across from the stage so that our necks don’t hurt after the show is done, lol!  It was nice to spend some one on one time with my little guy, and to be a part of the things that he does in school.  Field trips make me happy 🙂

3. Lunch dates.  After the field trip I checked my little guy out of class for a little while so that we could go have lunch together.  We went to a small diner close to their school, and there we sat eating, coloring, and talking.  Lunch dates make me happy 🙂

4. My Mother-in-Law, and Sister-in-Law.  My Mother-in-Law, and my Sister-in-Law both spent time with my little lady so that I could attend the play with my younger son.  It’s so nice to have family close by that are willing to babysit.  Helpful family members make me happy 🙂

5. The Milford Cinema.  On Saturday night my husband and I took our kids to see Alice in Wonderland at the Milford Cinema.  My husband’s wonderful parents joined us.  The cinema is small, and only has one screen, but when you can take a family of 5 to the movies on Saturday night, and only spend about $35 which not only included all 5 tickets, but also a large popcorn, and pop for everyone  you most certainly walk away happy 🙂

What made you happy this week?

These old photos made me smile today, so I’ve decided to share them.

I hope that your week is filled with sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love!

‘Twas The Night Before Christmas – Fenton Michigan Photographer

and in my boys room, my boys were both stirring, and laughing out loud.  Their notes were all hung by curling ribbon with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

I meant to post these photos way back in December, but I got a little side tracked.  So, since there is still snow on the ground I decided that now was as good a time as ever.

On Christmas Eve my darling boys decided to decorate their room for Santa.  At least that’s what they said, but all of those low hanging ribbons seemed more like a trap to my husband…  🙂

Anyway, my boys were so excited to show off their hard work, and their motivational notes for Santa that they insisted I take photos.  And then they took my point and shoot to make a video of the event.

Childhood is amazing.

Especially when you have someone to share it with 😉

I hope that your week has been filled with sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love!
