Guess What?
Where in Florida you ask? I will be staying in Jacksonville, but I will also be heading to Orlando!
I will be photographing some lovely people while I am there, and I will also be visiting with family and friends. I’m excited for my trip, and I can’t wait to hit the beach! Now if only my chubby thighs would stay in Michigan…
If you are in the area, and are interested in booking a session, please contact me for details.
I hope that everyone’s day has been filled with sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love! Mine was filled with all of that, and even included a back rub

The J Family – Michigan Family Photographer
I recently had the pleasure of meeting the J family.
Mommy J was one of the wonderful people that informed me that some of my e-mails were disappearing into cyberspace, and then we had to re-schedule her session due to rain.
Since I am so grateful for her patience, and so thankful for the heads up the J family gets a very large sneek peek today! They’ve earned it
Little Miss J has such a sweet little personality to go with those adorable blond curls

It was so nice to meet you J family, I hope that your sneek peek has filled your day with sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love!

5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week
5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week
1. Visiting my sister. This week I picked up my sister’s oldest 2, and we headed to my sister’s house for a play-date. The kids swam, and rode bikes, while my sister and I chatted, and played cards. I love my sister, and her family, and I love that she lives close by. Visiting with my sister makes me happy
2. Vacation Bible School. This week my kids went to Vacation Bible School. (My daughter stayed 2 out of the 5 days.) I loved that my boys wanted to be in the same group even if that meant that my oldest had to be in a group with younger kids. I loved that when I came to pick them up they were singing, dancing, and smiling. I loved that my boys were always sitting together, even though there were so many other kids that they could have paired up with. My daughter even went this year, and if you know her well, you’d know that she is not a big fan of leaving her mommy. So I was really proud of her. My kids having a wonderful time at Bible School, and singing songs of praise makes me happy
3. Down time. While my kids were at Vacation Bible School I was blessed with some down time. I spent it with my daughter, my husband, my cousin (whom I hadn’t seen in 20 years.) and one of my close friends. Sometimes the summer days can seem pretty long, and it was nice to have a little down time this week. A tiny break from everyday life made all of us happy, even if it was only for 2 hours
4. Family reunions. This weekend was my husband’s family reunion. Even though we didn’t spend as much time there as we usually do it was still nice to see everyone. My husband’s family is really great, and fun, and silly… I feel blessed to have them in my life, and I feel blessed that my children have so many people that love them. Family reunions make me happy
5. Youtube. I came across a video on Youtube this week, and it made me smile. I couldn’t help but giggle right along with the adorable laughing baby. Youtube videos make me happy
What made you happy this week?
Instead of posting a photo this week you get the Youtube video. I hope that your weekend has been filled with sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love!
On a side note, I am still having problems with some of my e-mails disappearing into cyberspace. I am all caught up on my e-mails, so if you are waiting to hear from me please e-mail me again, and leave your phone number so that I can get back with you

5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week – Michigan Lifestyle Photographer
1. Watching my kids take pictures. This weekend my little ones modeled for some photographer friends, and we let them get behind the lens for a little while. I loved to watch their smiles as they took photos, and I also loved to watch their excitement as they viewed the photos on the back of the camera. They were so excited to see what they had taken, and I loved to see the world through their eyes. Watching my kids do something that makes them happy, and seeing them filled with pride makes me happy
2. Laughter. I love to hear people laugh, and I love the feeling of laughing so much that your cheeks hurt, and you can’t quit smiling. I also love the light, happy feeling that you get inside. My week was filled with not only my own laughter, but also with the laughter of friends. It’s funny to me that when one person laughs whole heartedly you can’t help but to laugh right along with them. Laughter makes feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and that makes me happy
3. Being silly. It’s fun to let your gaurd down, and revert to a more child like version of yourself every once and awhile. It’s nice to take a step back from being all grown up, and remember what it was like before you had that long list of responsibilites. Being silly and carefree every once and a while helps to reduce your stress level, and re-connect with your inner child, and that makes me happy
4. Dancing. This week I danced with my kids at a concerts at the park. I didn’t care who might be watching, or how silly I probably looked. I embraced the moment, kicked off my shoes, and had fun! It made life feel simple, and laid back. They smiled, I smiled, other people smiled… For a brief moment I could picture people doing the very same thing years and years ago. And then I realized, someone had probably stood in that very same spot, and danced with their children once upon a time, just as I was doing now. And one day someone will probably dance with their children in that very same spot again. Dancing with my family, and feeling connected to people that have come before us, and people that will come after us makes me happy
5. Campfires. Yesterday we had a campfire for my oldest son’s birthday. It was fun to watch the kids talk, and play. It was fun to watch them make s’mores. It was fun to watch them take turns with the flash light, and try to come up with a story to tell. Campfires are a summer tradition that remind me of my own childhood, and that makes me happy
What made you happy this week?
I was recently informed that some of my e-mails from the past few months have disappeared into the wonderful world of cyberspace, and that other’s have joined the lovely spam folder. I currently have responded to all of my e-mails, so if you have e-mailed me and have not gotten a response, please check your spam folder. If it’s not there, please e-mail me again since your e-mail response may have been one of the ones that got lost in cyberspace
I hope that your week is filled with sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love!

For accepting my little guy’s offer to take a photo of us with my camera after he had taken a photo of you. These pictures make me smile, and make my heart happy. Thank you for reminding me of just how good it can feel to be on the other side of the camera.

Opa! – Michigan Photographer
I went to the Greektown Casino with some photographer friends recently, and while we were there we of course saw the flaming cheese, and heard the waiters shout Opa!
Well, that made me wonder what exactly opa meant… I wondered if the word had a real meaning, or if it was more along the lines of girls hanging out with their girl friends shouting “Woo!” whenever the mood strikes. So we asked our Greek waiter, and according to him, opa is indeed equivilant to the woo. Good to know, huh?
Thank you Mr. Waiter for helping to answer our question, and thank you lovely ladies for helping to fill my weekend with sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love!
On a side note, I do still have a few openings for the Summer Makes Me Smile Sessions. If you, or someone you know would be interested in booking a session, please e-mail me at sarahwheeler.blinkphotography@yahoo.com

5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week – Michigan Child Photographer
Oh my, there are so many things that made me happy this week! So, I’ll start with the thing that makes me happiest today
1. My oldest son celebrates his 9th birthday today. He is so excited that it’s his big day, and that excitement is contagious
I love that my little man actually sees today as both of our big day. It is because of him, on this very day that I became a mother after-all. Happy birthday sweet boy, thank you for always being true to yourself D, I love you! Celebrating birthdays makes me happy
2. My younger son learned to ride his bike without training wheels. We got home a few nights ago, and I asked my little guy to go and get one of the bikes that didn’t have training wheels on it so that I could help him learn how to ride his bike. Up until recently he didn’t have the confidence that he needed to do it, but after a few times I was able to let go of the back of his bike, and he took off like a champ! His expression the first time that I let go, and he realized that he had done it all by himself is something that I will treasure forever. Huge eyes, even bigger smile, and lots of jumping up and down screaming, “I did it Mama, I did it!” As an added bonus, the following day our neighbors little boy that adores my son decided that it was time for him to learn to ride without training wheels too. And you want to know what, he did. Teaching my son to ride his bike, who in turn was used as motivation for someone else to learn to ride their bike makes me happy
3. My younger son’s toenail fell off. I never dreamed of a day when I would wish for a toenail to fall off, but due to an unfortunate door opening we had been bandaging my younger son’s toenail for weeks. The bandaids would fall off, his toenail would get bumped and lift up causing him a lot of pain… (It looked awful too.) So, for the first time in my life I wished for a missing toenail. And when it finally came off it wasn’t painful, and no longer needed constant re-bandaging. I am also happy to announce that the nail underneath had also started to re-grow. Owies that are no longer owie make me happy
4. Quiet shower time. This week I got to take a nice, long, hot shower that didn’t involve any knocking on the door from someone needing something. Since it doesn’t happen often, I took the time to make a mental note of it, and truly treasure the moment. Showers alone, without having to play referree while shampooing my hair makes me happy
5. Watching my husband play football with our boys. This week I watched my husband play football with our boys, and it made me happy. I love to watch all of them spend quality time together. (Especially when it doesn’t end in someone being mad about something.) I love to look over, and think “those are my boys.” The father son relationship intrigues me, and I wish that my brothers had that when they were growing up. Fathers that make time for their children make me happy
What made you happy this week?
I hope that your day is filled with sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and love!
